At the latest count there are nearly 350 groups in membership of Vale Volunteers. They expect to receive a raft of different services. These include: monthly email briefings, a quarterly newsletter, information about events, funding and training, support with office services, at-cost printing and photocopying, loan of equipment, representation in engagement with the statutory authorities, and importantly, a full range of volunteer brokerage services from our integrated Volunteer Centre.
Vale Volunteers now offers a broad range of other services to the local voluntary sector. For example, we will attend consultation events held by Aylesbury Vale District Council, the Primary Care Trust, the Police and other Statutory authorities and represent the views of local groups. Following such meetings Vale Volunteers will publish consultation documents on the website and request a response from interested organisations. This is to make sure that the voice of the voluntary sector is heard loud and clear when important decisions are being discussed.
A newsletter is published quarterly – this contains a wealth of useful contacts and information. If you would like a copy (which is sent automatically to member organisations) please get in touch.
At Vale Volunteers, we arrange and deliver training on a wide range of subjects relevant to charities and the voluntary sector, in co-operation with other CVS organisations across Buckinghamshire, and provide access to a number of training workshops and seminars. Please note that there may be a charge for these.
Members are able to take advantage of a range of office services, such as at-cost photocopying and printing, free loan of TV/Video and digital camera, lamination and binding equipment.
Vale Volunteers can give information about a wide range of subjects – getting a new group started, gaining registered charity status, insurance issues, expansion - we hope to have the answers, or find them out for our members. We offer a swift and accurate service via phone, e-mail, letter or face-to-face. For more details, please contact us.
We send all members with email a monthly e-briefing which gives the latest news and information of interest to voluntary and community organisations, and all members receive a quarterly newsletter.
Vale Volunteers can give basic funding advice details, and works with partner organisation Buckinghamshire Community Action www.bucks-comm-action.org.uk to provide a high quality service for members looking for funding opportunities and advice.
Vale Volunteers has a small library of resources for members. We offer access to a wide range of relevant published information on research, issues, recruitment and best practice. Some of these resources are on our website.
Vale Volunteers hosts regular free Voluntary Sector forums in locations
across Aylesbury Vale. These take place at least 3 times a year, and
provide a good opportunity for the delivery of training, the sharing of
relevant information, consultation on matters of immediate relevance and
importance, and for networking between members. Vountary Sector Forums are ideal networking opportunities. Forthcoming forums are detailed on the News & Events page.
It costs nothing to become a member of Vale Volunteers, and we are confident that your organisation will gain benefit from membership – regular emails and newsletters keep you posted on what’s happening, and how your organisation can access training and funding. Just complete the online form on the Volunteer Centre page, or contact us at our office and we will do the rest!
If you are a member and you wish to register a volunteering opportunity you may do so by completing the opportunities registration form on the Volunteer Centre page.
